Grasshopper “Fuel & Emissions Calculator” wins top honors at annual TOCA awards banquet

MOUNDRIDGE, Kan. – The Grasshopper Company, manufacturer of commercial-grade zero-turn mowers, continues to build on its success, not only as an leader in innovative and lean manufacturing, but also as leader in the marketing and communications realm of the outdoor power equipment industry by receiving recognition at the 24th Annual Turf & Ornamental Communicators Association (TOCA) awards banquet in Portland, Ore., on May 9.
The company was awarded first-place honors for the launch of its innovative Fuel & Emissions Calculator for commercial mowing equipment, an online calculator for comparing fuel costs and emissions for landscape contractors and commercial mowing fleets. The online tool was applauded for the use of technology and forward-thinking ingenuity.
“It’s a company tradition to excel at everything we do, whether in manufacturing our products or telling the industry about them,” says Ruthanne Stucky, executive vice president and marketing director at Grasshopper. “Our recognition at this year’s TOCA conference affirms that we are continuing in that tradition.”
The annual TOCA contest receives more than 360 entries from some of the industry’s top marketers and agencies, and the competition for ‘best in category’ gets tougher each year, says Den Gardner, executive director of TOCA.
