Grasshopper Awarded Exporter of the Year by EXIM Bank

MOUNDRIDGE, Kan. - Grasshopper Mowers, the turf equipment brand sold worldwide and manufactured exclusively in Moundridge, was awarded 2022 Exporter of the Year by Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) at a ceremony December 13 in Washington, D.C.

EXIM is the official export credit agency of the United States with a mission of supporting American jobs by facilitating the export of U.S. goods and services. EXIM provides businesses with financing tools necessary to compete for global sales to level the flying field when U.S. goods and services match up against foreign competition in overseas markets. This helps American companies create stability and American jobs.

"When we begin doing business in an international market, we approach it with a long-term vision of increasing sales year over year. When we extend credit to a foreign market that goes beyond our comfort zone, an EXIM policy brings us peace of mind, by insuring our receivables. From there, we are able to continue growing," said Ray Garvey, International Business Development Manager at Grasshopper.

“Recognition by an independent Executive Branch agency of the U.S. government validates our efforts in the minds of our international customers,” said Garvey.

In addition to this award, Grasshopper has received other honors in 2022, including the coveted Dealer’s Choice Award by the Equipment Dealers Association as the top Outdoor Power Equipment Manufacturer by dealerships across the United States and Canada. Additionally Grasshopper was a finalist in the Coolest Thing Made in Kansas sponsored by the Kansas Chamber of Commerce.
