With cost-effective power and performance, Grasshopper MidMount™ and FrontMount™ diesel zero-turn mowers tackle the toughest #MowDay jobs with minimal fuel use and far less maintenance.
Diesel done right.
Powered by Kubota® diesel engines, these zero-turn mowers are the perfect combination of power and emissions-compliant efficiency.
Our diesel MidMount and FrontMount riding mowers have earned their reputation as hard workers through their ability to maintain blade tip speed even under the most demanding conditions. Plus, with superior torque, these zero-turns operate at higher speeds, ultimately allowing them to complete a job up to 50% faster than similarly powered gas models. Diesel engines adjust their air-to-fuel ratio depending on how hard they are working. In conditions where the diesel engine is running under a small load or idling, it consumes very little fuel. In controlled mowing tests, Kubota® diesel zero-turns are found to use only half the amount of fuel as equal-powered gasoline models. Over the course of 1,000 hours, you can save 650 gallons or more of fuel using diesel-powered Grasshopper mowers versus gasoline models of similar power. Our diesel engines are EPA Tier-4 Final-compliant, bringing robust, fuel-efficient performance all while meeting stringent environmental standards.
Nothing compares to a DuraMax Deck.
We didn't settle for flimsy, stamped steel decks. We spent years building the toughest, most durable deck around.
All of our mower decks—standard and Duramax®—are made from the same robotically welded, heavy-gauge, formed steel and are far superior to the flimsy plastic or stamped-steel construction you find elsewhere. We've added an extra layer of heavy-gauged formed steel to our DuraMax deck that sits over the deck’s leading edge for even more durability and impact protection. The geometry of the formed steel is seven times stronger than a strip of flat steel. Our extra deep 5.5-inch DuraMax® decks are made from years of innovative airflow research and feature specially designed cutting chambers that deliver enhanced airflow for a better cut quality. Spindles are anchored to double layers of robotically-welded, formed steel in a 6-bolt pattern to spread the force of impact for greater strength in commercial applications. Triple-strength decks are nearly 1-inch thick in stress zones with durable Sentry™ spindles mounted on spindle planes that are more than 25% thicker than 1/4 inch. Spindle guards shield the housing and seal lower bearings from grass wrap and dirt ingestion. High-impact, high-rotational-speed bearings with durable seals extend spindle life. Designed to let you change the way you mow without changing decks, Grasshopper decks let you easily convert between standard Side-Discharge, Down-Discharge™ Mulching, and PowerVac™ Collection. With QuikAjust™ DropPin™, you can easily adjust the height of your cutting deck anywhere from 1 to 5 inches with a single-foot pedal and drop pin for ultimate precision and a smoother finish. Easily reach belts and grease points, plus make quick, simple work out of your routine zero-turn mower maintenance. Every deck comes with a built-in multi-ply rubber striping belt that combs the grass into crisp uniform stripes as you mow without cumbersome rollers that catch obstacles or gouge turf. You get the strength and durability of DuraMax without ever sacrificing on features...as all of our FrontMount DuraMax decks come with PowerFold™ built in. So it's easier than ever to swap out blades and clean the underside of your deck.
PowerFold Deck.
An industry-first, the PowerFold® Electric Deck Lift is a standard feature on every one of our FrontMount zero-turn mowers.
With just the flick of a switch, raise the cutting deck to a near-90° vertical position for safe underside access, easy cleaning, quicker blade changes, and more. When the deck is completely raised, your FrontMount mower has a footprint equal to that of a MidMount, saving you immense space when loading onto a trailer for transport or into a shed for long-term storage. The PowerFold doesn't just fold up for easier maintenance, but allows you to adjust your cutting height as well. Move your cutting height between 1.25 and 5 inches without the need to reposition hitch pins or perform other time-consuming tasks. The low-profile, out-front design lets you easily nose in and out of tight spaces under fences, shrubs, and low-hanging trees. This virtually eliminates the need for string trimming.
