Models & Features
Model numbers and decals on every Grasshopper zero-turn lawn mower represent the series, engine size, and transmission type/size of that particular model.
The higher/larger the model number(s), the larger the components, the more standard comfort features, and the more available options for increased performance and productivity.
“V” models feature vertical-crank engine configurations as opposed to horizontal-crank engines.
G4 identifies the transmission, EFI means electronic fuel injection for fuel efficiency, and D denotes a diesel-powered unit.
MidMount™ zero-turn lawn mowers are compact and agile for open areas, while FrontMount™ zero-turn mowers place the deck out front for better visibility and trimming around obstacles. In addition, FrontMount riding mowers are compatible with up to 10 attachments to make your zero-turn more versatile and to put it to work year-round.
Grasshopper offers air-cooled and liquid-cooled gas or diesel mower engines from Vanguard®, Kohler®, Kawasaki® and Kubota® for different performance needs.
Depending on the series, top speeds for our zero-turn riding lawn mowers range from 7.5 to 11 mph, cutting up to seven acres per hour. Best of all, with the high-end build of our zero-turn mowers, you don't sacrifice the quality of cut for higher speeds.
Yes. Suspension seats, ergonomic controls, and vibration-reducing platforms are designed for all-day mowing comfort.
Grasshopper zero-turn riding mowers are built with a low center of gravity and a wide, stable stance that help them stay sure-footed on rolling or uneven ground. Because every property is different, your local Grasshopper dealer can provide a hands-on demo and help you determine how the mower will perform on your hills.
Decks range from 41 to 72 inches with side discharge, rear discharge, or Down Discharge™ mulching options.
Diesel engines provide higher torque, longer service life, and up to 50% better fuel efficiency for high-hour operators. Fuel-injected diesel engines save up to 650 gallons of fuel over 1,000 hours.
Ownership & Maintenance
To guarantee OEM quality and proper installation, Grasshopper mower parts are sold through your local authorized dealer or through an online authorized retailer like Amazon.
If you use your Grasshopper zero-turn mower for commercial purposes, most models carry a 3-year unlimited-hour warranty, while some models have shorter year/hour limitations. For residential/homeowner use, Grasshopper zero-turn riding mowers are generally covered for 4 years or 800 hours, whichever comes first, while some models have shorter hour limitations. The engine warranty is always carried by the engine manufacturer and varies between 2-3 years depending on the manufacturer.
Routine checks, oil and filter changes, and periodic greasing are recommended. Grasshopper has some of the lowest counts of grease points in the industry. CoolTemp Hydro-Max™ fluid extends transmission service intervals to 1,000 hours on some models. See our routine maintenance guide here.
Gas models typically consume 0.9 to 1.8 gallons per hour, while diesel models average 0.5 to 1.0 gallons per hour.
Serial plate locations vary by power unit and are either under the seat, on the frame by the left tire, or beneath the operator cushion on a stand-on. Serial plates are on the back-right side of decks and various locations depending on the implement. ROPS serial plates are on the right side of the bar.
Manuals are available through grasshoppermower.com/manuals or your authorized dealer.
