New gas and diesel models for 2008

MOUNDRIDGE, Kan. – Power and finesse: two new mowers from The Grasshopper Company offer the best of both worlds. One model includes an economical yet powerful gasoline engine, while the other features smooth operating diesel performance.

Grasshopper Model 335 is a compact, 35-hp zero-turn commercial mower made to run with the big boys. Powered by a heavy-duty Vanguard Big Block gasoline engine, the horizontal design of the engine ensures a long service life while providing the economy of an air-cooled V-Twin. Model 335 also includes the robust G2 drive system and a 10-on-7 gauge, dual-thickness steel DuraMax® deck with Sentry Spindle System™. A plush Cordura seat and padded-grip steering levers provide excellent operator comfort while optional DuraFlex™ suspension forks and optional suspension seat can be added as extra comfort items for rougher mowing areas.

Also new for 2008 is the introduction of the AntiVibe Power Platform™ in diesel Model 721DT. The 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled Kubota diesel engine is mounted on an isolated platform together with the implement power shaft and the hydrostatic drive system, providing a smooth, quiet feel never before experienced in a zero-turn radius commercial mower.

Coupled with theaward-winning T-Drive™ system co-developed by Grasshopper and Parker Hannifin, the AntiVibe Power Platform™ eliminates the use of drive belts, pulleys and external reservoir, maximizing power transfer to the cutting deck or implement while isolating the engine and the drive train for an unprecedented vibration-free experience for the operator. An embroidered plush seat and padded-grip steering levers combine with the anti-vibration properties to provide a new industry standard in ergonomic comfort.

Model 721DT’s front-mounted DuraMax® deck increases mowing speed with optimal visibility and trimability, and is also constructed with dual-layered, robotically-welded steel. The optional PowerFold® Deck Lift allows operator to raise deck upright at the touch of a switch for space-saving portability, simplified blade sharpening and mulching package installation.

PowerVac&trade Collection Systems andshielded sprayers are available for both models, while a host ofQuikConverter&trade implements including snowthrowers and dozer blades are available with Model 721DT.
